Hay Rich

After the walk Ayanna and Marika were let out to see if they would head over to the stallions and sure enough they did.  Below they have been called and respond immediately by heading up to the barn.

Both mares are still showing. Ayanna was stalled while Marika was covered by Valiant then Ayanna was taken over for Evan to cover. Since I had the camera with me I sanpped a few other shots. This is Marika's filly:

She has her daddy's big movement. Check out Ayanna's mane and tail in the picture below:

Not the best picture but shows how thick both are. Her daughter by Evan already has noticeable feather.

As long as the camera was out I thought I should get some pictures of Zalena's colt and Eliza's filly for their owners. 

They were all hanging around the gate next to Jenis and Emma who are in the next field over. The foals were so funny, Eliza's filly is such a tease to her half brother. Everywhere he went she followed and kept asking him to play.

He went over and stuck his head in the hay bale, probably just to get away from his pest of a sister.

It was hard to put the camera away, go inside and start on house work. Mark came home early to start moving bales off the neighbors field. We made arrangements to buy 30 of their round bales. This is second cutting straight alfalfa. We like to feed more of a grass hay but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. At 8:30 tonight the last of the hay was inside the barn. It started raining softly but not enough to get us to quit.

  With Karin canoeing up at the boundary waters with a bunch of the family we don't have to worry about the vaulters using the indoor arena so didn't take the time to stack them neatly We were more concerned with getting them off the field and out of the rain. Storms are predicted tonight and we are thankful for the rain, this is great for the hay fields and pastures now that the hay is safely in the barn. We now have 109 bales inside and feel hay rich!
