Quietness

The snow is softly falling deadening all the usual sounds around here. Karin, Rhoda and Sarah were determined to be snowed in here instead of Maquon, Bloomington, or Peoria. They are all up at the apartment with Emily playing games. We are suppose to get 6-8 inches by the time this storm is over.
Diane went in to Peoria today so I asked her to buy a new wheelbarrow for the barn. That is now sitting in the family room waiting for Mark to put together.

Another deposit came in today for one of the fawn female puppies, the count is 8 down and 1 to go. We think this is amazing, at just 2 weeks old 8 of them are sold.
We are acquiring 3 more mares. Are we crazy? The first mare is the mare pictured below.

She is a registered half Arabian half Quarter horse mare foaled in 1998. She was bred to a spotted saddle horse stallion and each time she has produced a black and white foal. She is exceptionally beautiful and we can't wait to see what she will produce when bred to one of our stallions. The next mare is an unregistered black Missouri Fox trotter around the same age. She is a maiden mare but rides. The 3rd mare is an 8 year old registered bay and white spotted saddle horse around 14.2 hands with extensive trail riding. They will join the Horsemeister herd once confirmed in foal. Pictures of the other 2 mares are on my phone and I can't figure out how to get them off. Once they arrive we will post pictures.
Choir was called off so I got to spend this quiet evening reading Heart of a Lion by Gilbert Morris. This is the first in a series called the Lions of Judah. The first book was on Noah. Now that it is finished I may just spend the money and buy the next 4 on Amazon for my kindle. They are $3.99 each so I'm really debating on that.
