Hours Away
I left the house by 7:45am hoping to arrive first at church but it wasn't to be. Rhoda and Sarah both beat me and were waiting in their cars for someone to show up with a key. We had lots of help, wonderful helpers and easily had the lunch prepared in plenty of time to go into the sanctuary to listen to Tim Funk's sermon. Amy, Diane, Beth and I headed up to the balcony as we needed to leave early to get the milk and sandwiches on the tables. Lunch went great! There was plenty of good food for everyone with enough to share. Willis had a very powerful afternoon service, one I'm going to have to download and listen to again.
We kind of rushed out of church and drove straight to Lucille Herman's visitation arriving at 1:30pm knowing it didn't open until 2:00pm but the time flew we were so busy visiting with others in the line. We needed to be at the fellowship hall by 3:00pm to meet Nancy. The Bible class puts on a dinner and play each year for the handicap home kids. Amy knew I wasn't feeling well and asked mom if she could take my place. Mom didn't know what she was referring to and immediately comes back with, "she isn't dead yet." Makes one wonder how mom's mind works.
Below mom and Nancy are waiting for the meal.
The Bible Class did a wonderful job, the play was titled "The Best Christmas Pageant EVER!" Jessica and Logan are pictured below, one would think they would have cleaned up a bit.
Jessica was the child who had never heard the Christmas story and ended up playing Mary in the Christmas pageant.
Below is a group picture of the cast.
After the play Santa Claus arrives with a gift for each special person. When they hear the jingle of the bells the anticipation grows until the room becomes surrounded with happy excited voices.
A few more pictures were taken but when I finally arrived home tonight, the internet was barely working, so slow it took 20 minutes to download each pictures.
