Fair Day 2

We had a very successful day, no one came off of their horse, and we had lots of customers. Amy did the bulk of the popping of the corn, the cotton candy was a disaster, sugar flying everywhere and not sticking to the cones, then popping a breaker. We put that away and just concentrated on trying to keep the popcorn supply up. That was hard, every time we got just a little ahead by a few bags, people would line back up again. The fair was packed, probably more people here than ever. The crowds were actually amazing, every clinic seemed to have more people watching then seats. Amy and I went in early for the breed and sport demo to find a seat. Now I don't want to brag on anything but in my mind the vaulters and Friesians were by far the best. We were actually very impressed at how polished the vaulters looked. Rachel got some great pictures and I had a good seat for the video which will be uploaded when we get home from the fair. The crowd LOVED the vaulters, Delany, Mya and Shaeya stole the show. How could our Friesian riders compete with that.
Actually Karin made a wonderful evil queen, scowling and yelling at the audience. She got booed while Rhoda made a lovely Lady of the lake, winning the audience support by her fearless riding. Ribbon smashed into Zalena but Anni handled it fine. All of the mares were great. Eisis did wonderful with Monica, every time I looked over she was either on the pedestal or line driving perfect. Both Valiant and Evan were good in the livestock arena, both laying down when asked but when Ylse came thundering near Valiant in a flat out gallop the poor boy jumped up way too quick, can you blame the guy? They ended their play to lots of applause. We were thrilled with how both demo's went. After the the demo's were over we had many of the audience come back to barn 14 to our stalls to visit with us, take pictures of the horses and ask about the breed. Here's hoping someone buys a horse from us, either that or a stud fee. Actually Steven talked to hundreds of people about them and did great PR work.
The evening performance went better for the mares but not as well with the boys. Emily about got her arms dragged out of their socket by Evan when the door was shut as he was entering the arena. Valiant wouldn't bow or lay down tonight but he drove like a pro. Steven thought maybe the huge crowds had something to do with that as the coliseum was was so sold out there was not even standing room. Karin had a great time as the bad guy, some little kids started booing her as she was galloping around, Karin pointed her lance at them and yelled ARRRRR, they jumped back shocked, when she lost the joust they cheered, really cheered. She makes a great evil queen. She and Rebekah left the arena in disgrace while Rhoda and Anni left to cheers. The video camera was just about out of charge so Amy and I left the coliseum, went back to the stalls to help clean up then off to the hotel. It is already 10:30pm and we are all exhausted.
