Berean Day

Today was Berean day and that is always a good day. I went out early to move the horses and clean the stalls then stopped in at the barn to kill more flies. On the way back from the stall barn stopped to take a picture of the sun as it was coming over the trees.

The sunbeam was shining on Valiant's paddock.
The people that rented the barn Saturday and left all the doors open all day left me a review that wasn't very nice but I'm sharing it anyway! We will rent again. The only concern where the night-time bugs. We looked for bug spray and could not find any. This one I had to respond to and was glad that airbnb lets a host respond publicly. This was my response. yes, at night you MUST leave the doors closed. The light from inside the gym attracts the bugs here in the country and especially the June bugs. I was shocked to see the big garage door open all evening.  I don't understand why a guest would not understand that. Aren't there insects in the city. One would NEVER leave their house door wide open all evening with the lights on inside the house!  Ruth, Diane and I walked. When we got to Joan's house a big painted turtle was on her drive.
I picked it up and moved it near the woods as we didn't want anyone hitting it.
After the walk we stopped in to visit with mom. Then mom and I left for the Berean office. That was a productive morning. There was quite a bit of mail to process. I was on the computer while Skip was filling study requests for chaplains so not a lot of pictures. After the prayer Skip told us about how a thief used the Berean credit card and charged $9000.00. Pretty bad to have that happen to a prison ministry. That thief should be ashamed of himself.

Shirley made the treat for us and that was amazing. We ALL wanted her recipe.
They really were the best cinnamon rolls I've tasted ever.
Below are a few pictures of the morning.

We dropped off the Bibles and studies going out today at the Hanna City post office. When I dropped off mom, Rhoda had just arrived with Iris and Zeke. Stephanie was already here with Israel and Elisabet and brought Nolan and Sarah's 3 girls as puppies were being born right then.  Taunya arrived with Addyson, Jack, Jace and Abe. They were all enjoying the lake as it was hot and muggy today.

I needed to leave to arrange to take the camper in to Tri County RV as the last renter told us the awning wouldn't work. Mark went first over to plug it in, opened the door and sent me a picture.
The glass cover for the stove burners had shattered and the keys were laying on top of the burner. I contacted the man who rented the camper but he said it was fine when he dropped it off. He told me he put the keys on top of the cover. He is a past renter and is also going to be rented from us a few more times this summer so I really do believe him. What a crazy thing!  Mark is going to try to order another glass cover. Hope he can find one. Sheena and her filly were brought over to the stalls this evening as we are expecting storms and her hoof must be kept dry. She was given her antibiotic shot in the stall as she was eating her grain. Titus is the adjacent stall and he is so tall he keeps looking over to the top. He is fascinated with the filly. Sheena has screamed at him a few times but now is ignoring him.
Mike talked to Dr. Hoerr about overdue Aiken. He reassured Mike there is nothing to worry about, some mares have a year gestation.
The horses were all brought inside at 7:00 pm. At 8:00 pm the wind started blowing and the clouds came rolling in.

The rain started a few minutes later. We are not going to get the huge amount of rain first predicted but are happy for any rain since the hay is not yet cut.
