Thankful For

I slept in but not by too much. Was up and drinking coffee when the bus arrived to pick up the cheer teams spending the night at the barn. The lady that rented the barn for the teams told me later they LOVED staying. The girls didn't want to go to sleep, they were having so much fun playing in the gym.  Below the bus is ready to pull away with a full load of excited girls at 7:10 am.

Mark was really worried that the bus would be too big to get out of the drive onto the main road but the driver was experienced and made it just fine.
After breakfast Mark and I went over to grab the towels and sheets for washing. I'm pretty sure more than 50 people spent the night and even more came last night during the evening. It sounded like from Loretta (the lady that actually booked the place) That the parents stayed to watch their practices and then for supper. Then all of those parents left on the bus for a hotel with 'real' beds and quiet rooms.
Mark and I left for church at 9:10 am and made it there just in time to meet Kathy and Randy bringing Nancy. Joan was down in Sunday school getting ready for her class after missing for 3 weeks. When she came up for the singing she let Nancy stand with her then go down to Sunday school. David had the morning message on Luke 6 but started with 1st Samuel 21. This message was SO very relevant for the times we live in. It must be listened to a second or even a 3rd time to be able to process everything he spoke of. Of course he was mainly speaking of Jesus and HIS emotions. Click HERE to watch that sermon. Chris and Steve served lunch. It was good to see Hans and Mandy again who helped with that. Tim Funk had the afternoon message on 2 Kings 5 and Matthew 8. That too was exactly what I needed to hear. Click HERE to watch that sermon. After church we stopped at Aldi and Kroger. Aldi to buy eggs, milk, cuties, and lettuce for the salad today and Kroger for grapes, strawberries and wild rice. As soon as we got home the food was taken over to the barn to start cooking. Today we had chicken teriyaki, wild rice seasoned with home made teriyaki sauce, salad, Hawaiian rolls with butter, avocados, peppers and our dessert was brownie bites with ice cream. We had 21 for dinner. The volley ball players arrived after dinner and we had a full gym then of kids playing in the bouncy house, upstairs hitting softballs in the batting cage and the volleyball players on the court.

The boys came up with a new game inside the bouncy house. Kind of like dodge ball but using the sides of the house to hit each other.
Boys will be boys.
The volley ball games seemed to be well matched.
Zeke had fun tapping on the bullet proof window with the drum stick while he watched his mom play.
After Ben took Jack and Jace home the kids came in to play in the kid's corner.
Rhoda and Lee were willing to take Nancy home tonight. Mark and I were very thankful for that. Last night Nolan our other son-in-law drove my car to Hardees so I could save an hour and today Lee saved me an hour by being willing to drive Nancy to Morton. I really and thankful for those two men and for sure have the best sons-in-law!
I just heard from the cheer teams. They did wonderful in the competition and all of the teams advanced to Nationals in Florida. They also left a great 5 star review. She wrote: They really LOVED The Barn!
