Berean Day

So thankful for a good night's sleep. After the long day yesterday we had an early night and both of us were up ready for our first cup of coffee just after 5:00 am. We were up but the coffee wasn't done until a few minutes after 5:00. Before heading to mom's I drove up to check the horses, all was well but took one picture of Candy and Sally sharing a bale while Curlin was over getting a drink. My next job was to go to the new barn to collect and start the laundry. The queen sheet set was taken over to the apartment washer and started along with one load of towels. The king sheet set was started in the barn washer with another load of towels waiting for the next load there. I stopped to take a picture of the mowed fields.

They look so good I thought I needed a close-up.
Sure hope the sun shines and no stray shower arrives. This should be excellent hay if we can get it up dry. By the time I got to mom's Ruth had already arrived. We enjoyed visiting before I left to change the the washing machines. At 8:30 am mom and I left for the Berean office. Everyone was hard at work when we arrived so we joined right in.

Above Marvin is talking to a chaplain about a Bible that had been returned. When the chaplain explained the prison is afraid of what is put in the Bible Marvin asked if they would accept a box of Bibles then give them out for us along with the Bible study to those writing to us requesting Bibles. The chaplain was going to check to see if that was a possibility. Our postage machine was running low on ink. Below Skip has just check that out and also had to add money as we were down to under $50.00 left.
At 9:30 am we met in the other room for prayer then Marvin gave us an update on a wedding he attended this weekend of a previous inmate. It was such a neat story. The prisoner named Ryan had been in another jail and met with Rick Plattner's son Joel. Joel spoke to him about Jesus and Ryan was converted. Ryan got transferred to the Peoria County Jail where Marvin, Skip, Mark K, and Spark were counselling. One day a man came down to the chaplain's office telling them Ryan sent them. The next day another and it kept going. Each prisoner would tell them Ryan sent them and told them they needed to listen to the TRUTH. One day Ryan came down himself. This Ryan is one that his seed landed on fertile ground and brought forth the 100 fold. It was such an amazing story. Ryan is out of jail, has an amazing job and now is married.  We love hearing success stories.
Below is a video of the Bible ladies getting Bibles ready for mailing.
When we finished for the day we enjoyed a delicious chocolate chip zucchini muffin Gail baked and sent in with Marvin. They were really good. So good that even though we had leftovers we did not send them back instead we froze them and some of us will have them next week too. Who would think that a muffin made out of vegetables would be so delicious? The Bibles and studies for grading were loaded into the wheel chair van. Mom and I stopped first at Meisters to drop off the studies for grading then to the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and studies being mailed out. We were home by noon. After Joan came over I left for the barn to change the laundry machines, make beds and fold towels before going back to the house for lunch. After lunch I went back to clean all 3 bathrooms, worked on the kitchen, cleaned out the closet the dehumidifier is in, then organized the gym. The only work left for tomorrow is windows and to scrub floors. and Mark spent the day mowing trails, changed the fuel filter in the small Kubota and swept the gym floor and some of the kitchen floor in the barn. I'm really thankful for his help with that. He went to Aldi and picked a Gyro kit for our dinner. I added avocado to that along with thin sliced onions, shredded lettuce and cucumbers. It was so good Mark asked for seconds. Now I just need to finish cleaning the kitchen.
