Road Grading

 Joan called just as we were getting ready to head out on the walk to see if we would stop at mom's and get Kabur to come. He has now spent the night twice at our house and twice at mom's. He is determined to sleep inside so Karin is going to let him spend the night at their house and we will bring him home each morning. He is an old dog and deserves to have a little luxury for his final years. When we reached Rhonda's we stopped in to talk a bit and noticed her shiny teapot wind chime. Maria made that for her.

Once reaching Joan's we were joined by Berlica's cat, Fedi's dog and Sarah's dog Kabur. It really is funny to see these 3 on the walk with the people. 

After the walk Lily was let out of her paddock to graze in the big field. She had to wait a bit for her colt to come with her. Once she was out grazing I left then and went down to the house to make breakfast. 

I made a spinach, ham and cheese omelet for breakfast served with a slice of toast and an orange. After breakfast Mark wanted to take the log splitter off the tractor and put on the road grader.  We hiked up to the barn to get that done. Below Mark is backing the tractor so we can put the log splitter up against the wall.

Lily was standing by the other horses by then as her colt was taking a nap there. . 

Below Mark is getting the tractor in place so I can help get the road grader hooked up.

He started grading and when he got close to Lily she took her colt back to her field for safety from that noisy tractor.

The grading of the road is the last step on fixing pot holes and that worked well. I needed to pay a bill and had run out of Horsemeister checks so called Diane. She was out on mom's deck with Karin and mom so I joined them. We had a good visit out there in the sun. Mark finished the grading and pasrked the tractor back in the barn.

Lily and her colt were locked back up in their field and paddock. 

Mike got home and wanted to pony each of the Thoroughbred mares out on the trails. I made it back in time to follow him as he was ponying Bulu.

Both mares did well although Aiken wouldn't step into the creek. Neither mare have ever been asked to cross water. Sally really is a great mare for training others. 

Both mares did well. Tonight was family night at church so we were getting ready early when Austin stopped in to show us how well they patched up his hand.

We only had a few minutes to visit as we needed to leave by 5:30 pm. It was interesting tonight at church. We met at 6:00 pm for a pizza meal then a short service in the sanctuary which Gregg Rumbold had then each leader of the general conference jobs got up told us a little about each of the needed volunteers and where they were needed.  Both Mark and I signed up for jobs and are glad to be able to help.
