It was only 4 degrees outside when we walked out this morning BUT we could really tell a difference. The bitter biting wind had calmed. The barn heat was turned on as Noel was coming with Kari's boys. She arrived this morning before the gym got up to heat and was there when I left for Aldis. I ran into Karin and Jackie who were there stocking up. I bought food for the Sunday meal which will be a spaghetti dinner and lots of different kinds of beans for the ham and bean soup that had to be made today. By the time I got home Kari had left. The heat was turned off at the barn and I drove straight to the barn to do a little cleaning and bring back the dishes from last Sunday. When that was finished the car was unloaded both of the groceries and most of the dishes. I still have 2 crockpots left in the back seat. The ham and bean soup was started and that took most of the day to cook but turned out delicious. We each ate a bowl then a gallon and a half were put in quart containers and put outside on the porch to cool. We left for church at 6:00 pm as we needed to stop at Meisters for Mark to drop off a proposal then had to stop and get gas. When we arrived Mark needed to check the new furnace in the quilter room so were glad we had arrived early enough to get that job done. Instead of going to Culvers after church the men unloaded a trailer full of chairs and tables for the downstairs.
