Thankful For Farmers

We were both up before 4:00 am today, Mark had a fire going in the fireplace woodburner and I had the coffee made before 5:00 am. When it got light enough for him to see he went walking while I made breakfast. Karin sent a text that Nancy's overnight bag had no clothes in it just books. Thankfully Karin had a brand new dress bought for Nancy for Christmas and gave it to her a8 days early.  It matched her crown perfectly.

We picked up Rhonda at 9:01 am. We were supposed to pick her up at 9:00 am but got stuck in traffic on the drive. Bill and Bethany were dropping something off at mom's house for Joan so we had to wait maybe 10 seconds for them to make the turn. I guess we can't use traffic as an excuse for being a minute late. When Nancy walked into church she was SO excited to show everyone her beautiful outfit and that went on pretty much all day. When ever she would catch a glimpse of herself in a mirror she would smile and preen. Tim Funk's son Isaac had the morning message click HERE if you would like to watch that. At lunch Sarah whipped out her jack knife to clean out mom's fingernails.
When it was time to sing. Joan's girls were first up. The first picture was missing Hannah but had all 4 of Bethany's children.
Berlica got back from the service at Skylines so she and Hannah joined them in signing.
Tim Roecker had the afternoon message. Click HERE if you would like to listen to that. After church Mark and I stopped at Sam's club to pick up ice, 3 racks of ribs and 2 rotisserie chickens for dinner tonight. That was served with stuffing, green beans soaked in chicken broth then cooked until tender and Hawaiian rolls with butter. For dessert there were a lot of leftovers from yesterday's party. We all had sufficient.  Taegan and Kensley let Iris and Zeke have the reindeer antlers Maria gave them at caroling last week. They LOVED them.

After dinner volleyball, pickleball and basket ball was played while Taunya's boys went up stairs to play with the wrestling mat, ping pong and the batting cage. They came down hot and thirsty.

They enjoyed cups of chocolate milk before leaving for home. Taunya took Nancy home for me. That is a 50 mile round trip but for her it only takes her 5 miles out of the way. I was thankful. Brian, our farmer told me today that the fields really need to have pot ash and some fertilizer applied this year. He is going to arrange it with FS and will take them out to show them where to apply it. He is really a great farmer and each year we appreciate how well he manages the fields.
