Not Good

Not good, Mark went out early to check on the colt and found him down and not able to get up. It took both of us to lift him from a dead stand.  Once up he nursed well pretty much emptying Rosalie's bag. Joan and 2 of her girls came over to see him.

Today was Berean day so mom and I went. IF you would like to read about our morning there click HERE. My hip pain is pretty bad so we did not stop to unload the Bibles going out today until Mark got home at 4:00 pm then he loaded them in his car and took them to the Hanna City post office. I stayed with mom until 2:00 pm then drove straight to the barn. The colt was still up and had nursed but just in case he was offered formula which he drank 2 cups worth. I left at 3:00pm to meet Rhoda in Morton, Sarah was coming to her house and would take the brisket for Easter dinner. At 5:00 pm the colt was given another 2 cups of formula and again he sucked it right down but is for sure still nursing. We had a huge storm move in with tornado warnings. It was all over about 8:15 pm so I took the golf cart up to the barn and found the colt had either laid down or fallen down in front of the gate the rain blew in and puddled around him. He had obviously struggled as the sand from the arena had formed thick mud and made quite a hole for the rain to fill in around him. Below is a picture of where he was laying and unfortunately he had breathed in the some of that puddle.
He was laying flat out with his head almost under water. Rosalie stood by him never moving away from the storm and she was also soaked. I was able to drag him out of the mud (again) and get him standing. Below is a picture of the clean side, the other side was covered with thick mud and sand.
He was offered some formula but just drank a little and was shivering. Mark was called to come to the rescue again. He brought towels then a bucket of warm water. We got him cleaned up but not sure how much water went in his lungs. He was given 1 cc of banimine under his tongue to help with the shivers and make him more comfortable. I've been out in the barn until just now sitting with him and have not seen him nurse at all. (not good) He did pass both urine and a small amount of manure. He perked up a little when he saw Rizzy.
His breathing is labored and he will not drink the warmed formula nor will he nurse. It is not looking good for this little guy.
