A Lot of Cooking

 I left at 8:30 am for Aldi to pick up ingredients for our Sunday supper but also bought a few things for the lunch today for the barn workers. Today was a cooking day starting with the green bean, ham and potato dish. Mark got a ham from Kroger yesterday for 99 cents a pound. That was sliced and diced and added to the pot of new potatoes that had been cooking for 15 minutes. As soon as it was back to boiling the green beans were added and those 3 were the only ingredients.  

That pan was put on simmer while 4 cans of solid white tuna was opened drained and mixed in the chopped celery, onion, dill and mayonnaise.
Mark was given directions on how to serve lunch as I was due to take Ruth's place at mom's house at 11:00 am.  Ruth and  Fedi were going to go to Olive Garden for her birthday. I stopped at the barn on my way over to see the progress. Lee, Philip and Anna were hard at work installing the 16 ft boards to the walls. They had 46 of them to do and got them all done today. 

The girls were here to help grandma when I finished at mom's. Kensley was putting stuff in the garage and found a piece of snake skin.  That snake was HUGE.
We started in the house making the dessert for Sunday's dinner. No pictures of that I didn't even think about taking pictures.  Once that was cooling on the porch the girls brought out one of the craft containers to pick out some crafts for Sunday after dinner.

They found some of the prizes we used for the horse fair performances and Braelyn went to work making jewelry for the other two.

When Mark got home he helped move a round bale in for Evan. Taegan and Kensley came out to help.  Below Taegan was petting Blueberry who was watching Kensley as she held Evan's lead rope.
Once the bale was in they let him go and we took the now empty grain bucket out. He went straight to his shelter to start munching on the new bale.
When we came and and washed up Sunday dinner was started on. Kensley and Taegan helped with the browning of 6 pounds of hamburger.
Anna came in to pick up the girls as I was filling 2 crock pots for crock pot lasagna. Those were put outside on the front porch and will spend the night out there then started in the morning.  Only then did I think about tonight's dinner and asked Mark if we could just eat left overs.  No more cooking for me today. Very thankful for today's progress on the barn.  Jamie sent a text with the picture below attached.  This is Legacy, a beautiful Valiant daughter.
Another wonderful text came in from the lady that bought Rosalie's last filly by Evan. She wrote: Dahlia is growing up so much. Today for fun we groomed her and put a bareback pad on to see what she thought. She is 15.1 as of today.

She is going to be huge, she is only 21 months old in the pictures above.
