2022 Indian Camp Day TWO

The breakfast was taken over at 7:30 am and the Indians were just hiking over from their campsite. They all had a good night. Joan cheated and put up some fans to help with the cooling as the weather has been very hot. As today is Berlica's birthday the campers sang happy birthday to her and then yelled it loud even for even great grandma to hear it without her hearing aids.

After breakfast the big job of the day was to catch enough fish for their dinner tonight so they took their home made fishing poles down to the water. Mom and Ruth were watching from the deck and mom kept making remarks about their technique stating, "those fish are going to have to be fast to grab the hook the way they are making their lines fly." No pictures of that as I needed to make the corn bread for tonight's meal. As soon as I got back they were ready to start painting the ponies.

Below is a video of some of the activities today.
This afternoon mom decided she wanted to swim too.  Ruth, Joan and I were able to take her down to the lake in a wheelchair and take her right into the water where Anna was waiting.

Below is a video.

The rest of the afternoon and evening at Indian camp was spent harvesting the food needed for the meal tonight. They had venison roasted over the fire with hot dog sticks, the fish caught earlier, corn on the cob, corn bread and other items found in the woods or fields. It was an authentic Indian meal. Later over the campfire came more Indian stories and a little cheating with the making of s'mores. Mark and I needed to finish up the dishes and get ready for church.  We left early and took Faith and Mackenson since Joan was just a little too busy to go.  Mike Kaisner had the message on the 10 commandments.  On the way home we decided to stop for icecream at the Dairy Queen on Farmington road only when we got there it had turned into a liquor store. We started teasing Mark about taking Joan's kids to a liquor store. Instead we went up Farmington hill to the McDonalds on Western and got a hot fudge sundae. We made it home by 9:00 pm and the colt was up waiting anxiously for his bucket of milk. Pictures were worked on until 10:00 pm them it was so past my bedtime I could hardly wait to crawl into bed and tomorrow we get to do it all over again.
