No walking for me today, instead the trailer was backed into the indoor arena and Jewel and her colt were put in a stall and a halter put on the the colt AND he got a tying lesson. He did not like that but it was necessary as he would need to be tied while Jewel was having her ultrasound at the vet clinic. The next job was to bring in Mayberry. Mike came at 7:15 am to help load. That went much easier than expected, the colt just jumped right into the trailer behind his mama. Mayberry didn't even hesitate when it was her turn, she stepped right inside. The trip went smoothly and the clinic was ready for us. Jewel was taken in first.

Jewel's Vet Visit
The colt was at the front and didn't do too bad. I quickly snapped the picture below with the phone.
Well Jewel is NOT carrying twins, in fact she wasn't pregnant at all both of what Dr. Hoerr thought were 13 day embryos had not grown at all so both were diagnosed as cysts. Unfortunately she had just ovulated so we will wait a week then short cycle her. Mayberry was next and stood WAY better for the blood draw then she did for the pictures needed. She kept walking toward Dr. Hoerr when he was trying to get a face shot. When I got back to the farm those horses were unloaded and the truck and trailer moved out of the way so the big trailer could be moved into place. The trail riders were here and as soon as they finished riding, the horses were loaded up and taken to Middle Grove for a vacation. They have earned their vacation time. Berlica, Rosa and Rochelle came with me to open gates. When we pulled up with the 5 horses stuffed into the 4 horse trailer the entire herd came running up to the gate waiting to see who we were bringing out.
The 5 riding horses were unloaded and they were thrilled to be back. Cookie was thrilled to drop and roll in the nice soft grass. It LOOKS like we have a dead horse out there but really it is just Cookie enjoying her roll.Soul's colt was very curious about Cookie, she looks just like his mom but shorter and took off chasing her to check her out.
Jury was keeping an eye on him, that is her to the left of the picture just making sure Cookie would be kind to him. Below is my favorite picture of the day. Ripper eating the tops of the grass grains off with Mika behind him.
Of course I took plenty of pictures of the foals but the favorite foal out there by far according to the 3 girls is Irish's colt. He LOVES people.
Rosalie's filly now has a name. Her owner decided on Dahlia.
Lily's filly walked right up to me curious about the camera.
Hadassah's filly and Hadassah had rolled in the lake and were covered with mud.
They do that to keep the flies off. Hadassah is so smart. We haltered Sheena, Berlica led her back to the trailer while I took a few more pictures.
Those horses make it hard to just drive away. They surround the truck and trailer. Below is Rosalie's filly in front of Lily's filly.
Lily is the mother of Rosalie, the grand mother of her filly and the mother of the current filly. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures taken today click HERE.
When we got back with Sheena she was showing big so was covered by Valiant. Mike took Mayberry and Dana over to the cabin field to join Indy and Oksana. He wants to work with them on tying, leading, backing up and standing still when asked. Mark and I are serving lunch in Peoria Sunday so some of the food was ordered today. From Michael's in Washington 75 gondolas were ordered and from Casey's in Hanna City 20 dozen donuts. We will add fruit, granola bars, nuts and cookies which will be picked up Saturday. Mark joined Costco so he could buy hearing aids and brought home a $60.00 Costco gift card which will be used for some of the food. Another booking came in for the apartment. Joan got all the mowing done here. Usually Mackenson and Faith do it but Faith stayed in Bluffton to help Bethany with Annie Marie and Mackenson isn't feeling well.
