Saying Goodbye to Galena

Ruth brought Jordan and Blair for the walk this morning.  Right after the walk this morning I left for Sam's club to buy dog food and fruit making it home just before our guests were to arrive. I drove straight to Diane's to drop off the fruit she needed for her company coming in tomorrow then home to start putting my stuff away.  We were expecting 95 degrees today with a heat index of 105 except we had a storm move in around 10:00 am which helped cool the air some but also got me wet unloading the groceries. Unfortunately Taunya showed up with the guests that came to visit the horses while it was raining. We had them drive into the indoor arena then walk across to the stall barn to see Rosaleigh's day old colt. Then went into the apartment to wait. The rain slowed down a little so we decided to take one guest at a time for a tour as the golf cart has a roof over just the front seat. We had 3 ladies each take the tour then they left at 11:30 to go into Hanna City for lunch at the Warehouse. I went in to put the rest of the groceries away and take the strawberries over to mom's house. The rain moved off just in time for the co-op picnic Joan was hosting at the playground. They all had a great time and the lake was appreciated as the temperature rose into the 90s. Mom wanted a big scoop of manure brought over for her garden and I got that done before Mark got home. When he got home he went right out to keep working on paddocks and spreading manure. We want to get it spread on the fields now that the hay is cut. The rain helps leach that black gold into the soil so we were really pleased we had some rain. Mark brought home the outdoor shower head I had ordered earlier. It was delivered to the shop as we have all of our packages delivered there now. The old one on the FSX trailer was cracked and would spray the water out everywhere.

We were taking that over to put it on the trailer and ran into Ruth and Fedi who came out for a walk with their dog so we stopped to visit with them and Ruth reported there is a 90% chance of a storm tonight. Hope we get more rain.  The man that wants Rosaleigh's colt called to report he would send the deposit today by paypal. He really doesn't want to lose him. The colt was marked sold then the 2nd and 3rd people on the list were informed that the colt was sold. The people driving in from Arkansas to pick up Galena arrived this evening. They are staying in the apartment tonight then load and leave early to beat the heat and get home before dark. We will miss Galena but I'm really happy with her new home. Bella the outside mare was teased this evening. She is still in and covered by Valiant.
