Cooling Off the Horses.

During the night sometime Skye and Sangria came over from the cabin field. They were put in the paddock next to Valiant until morning.  This heat is oppressive, day after day in the mid or upper 90s. This afternoon there was the rumble of thunder and a build up of clouds which cooled the temperature down a smidgeon then the clouds blew away without a drop of rain hitting our area and the thermometer soard upwards again. Karin took a group of 6 riders and 6 horses out early this morning to beat the heat.

It was almost too hot to swim but Spark had a lot of grand children swimming in the picture below.

I took Addyson, Jack, Jace, Abe, Israel and Elisabet around the cabin field to try to find where the horses are getting out and we found the spot. From there we went on the trails with the golf cart hoping the woods would be cooler than up on the farm. Below Addyson, Abe and Israel are down by the creek. The creek is very low due to lack of rain. 

Jace and Elisabet were too tired to get off the golf cart.

On the way up the hill we almost got stuck. Abe, Jace and Israel jumped out to push while Addyson drove and Elisabet just prayed.

We made it up with kid power. From there we went to Joan's house to see her play house. Berlica has it well decorated with toys and the table was set with silver goblets. 

Fedi and his dog arrived to help Joan fix the mower.

Mackenson showed the kids his fort, his work shop and a few of his inventions. He works very hard building things every spare minute.

It was so hot this afternoon Karin and the kids took the horses swimming to cool them down.
 Joan had some missionary friends visiting from Haiti and 65 year old Leon Miller asked if he could try that as he has never swam with horses before.

 One is never to old to learn new things.

About that time Taunya lost electricity in the apartment. I was busy checking all the breakers but wasn't having any luck finding the problem. Ben came home with his tester and found every other breaker had live feed and the others had no live feed. Spark came over and figured out the problem. We will need to order another 200 amp and 100 amp breakers.The grandchildren were all swimming at mom's beach while we were working on the electricity.  It was too hot outside to tease any mares but the horses that weren't taken swimming were hosed down to cool them off. I'm SO thankful for airconditioning!  This evening we went to mom's for church. Gregg Rumbold had the message on 1 Thessalonians 2. After the service Ruth served zucchini bread. It is still 80 degrees outside at almost 9:00 pm. Tomorrow we are suppose to have a little break from this extreme heat with highs around 88. At this point anything less than 90 sounds wonderful.
