Tatiana's New Filly

Tatiana delivered early this morning and just like that we are finished with foaling season!  Tatiana was the last mare due and she delivered 3 weeks early.  The filly is exquisite.

Tatiana has had 3 foals for us delivering early with each one. She takes very good care of her foals and her foals end up sweet and beautiful. This filly is a purebred Friesian and we will register and dna her with Friesian Heritage Horse. The sire of this filly is Valiant. If interested in owning her we have her listed on our website for $8000.00. Tatiana is 16.1 hands and Valiant is 16.2+ so this filly is going to be tall, have lots of hair and have very good movement.
My day was busy, the Kiefer built trailer was backed into position and unhooked from the 2015 Chevy truck then the 2 horse trailer unhooked from the 2003Ford truck and hooked up to the Chevy truck. Karin needs to use that tomorrow to haul some horses out to the Goose Ranch. I spent the morning at Middle Grove, hiking for miles to find the herd and check the horses. When I got back 2 bales were moved, one into the cabin field for the riding horses and one in Ribbon's old paddock for the mares and foals in that paddock. Next was teasing mares. Ayanna was brought over from the cabin field and she was not interested. Lilly, Brandee's mare was teased to both stallions. She wasn't screaming or kicking at him so she was tied and Valiant brought up, She started kicking then AND threw herself backward breaking her halter. Lacy, the Appy mare was teased next and she struck out and screamed. The bay mare that came in for breeding on Friday was teased and she also was not interested. Indy was brought up and there was some winking so she was covered by Evan.  All 3 of the owners were called, or sent a text or email to ask if they want Dr. Hoerr to sonagram their mare on Wednesday as he is scheduled to come out that day to ultrasound Ayanna. All 3 said yes. Hopefully he can tell me when Lilly and the bay mare will come in and if the Appy is pregnant.
This evening a storm rolled through dropping over a half inch of rain. We were all so happy about that, the fields are very dry and this rain was wonderful. Ruth, Joan, Heather, Diane and I went to mom's house for games tonight arriving during the storm. When it was over a beautiful rainbow appeared. Diane took the picture below.
