93 Degrees

Early this morning Hadassah was teased and covered by Evan then Easter Lilly teased and covered by Valiant. Her owner was sent a text with the good news.  We had a nice morning, not too hot but did that ever change this afternoon. The heat just kept building. Tatiana and her filly had to be stalled out of the sun. It is much to dangerous for a young black foal to be outside in this kind of heat. Their black coat soaks up the sun and young foals cannot regulate their temperature. Karin arrive early for the trail rides today, getting in at least 2 before the heat hit. Below are the 2 rides I saw.

After the first ride those riders came ove to play with the foals. Below they ar petting Rosaleigh's colt.

 He LOVES to have his rear end scratched.

 When the company started offering treats, the mom's edged out the foals. That is Sheena, her filly, Madiera's colt and Madiera.

 When Rosaleigh's colt lost his position at the fence, he came over to check out the camera and he is a typical baby boy, everything goes in his mouth.

Braelyn, Addyson and Abe came with me on the golf cart for the next ride. Below they are watching the horses as they came back from across the creek.

The riders were Karin, Taegan, Emma, Mercy, Kensly and Livie riding Ripper, Sangria, Sally, Cookie, Missy and Ayanna.

Anna came to pick up the girls and Abe for lunch then brought them back here for swimming as the temperature was climbing fast. Below the 4 girls were swimming across the lake.

 Abe couldn't go but didn't mind playing on the floating mat. 

Jack and Jace spent the night at Sarah and Nolan's house. Sarah took them to the Peoria zoo and was joined by Rhoda, Lee, Irish, David, Elisabet and Israel. They sent the pictures below.

I left for grocery shopping at Aldi in Pekin. When I left the store it was 93 degrees outside. The man coming to pick up his mare was suppose to be here at 2:30 pm but just as I was pulling into the drive at 2:00 pm they called to report they were here and up at the barn. Belle the mare loaded up just fine then I drove the car back down to the house to unload groceries and start supper. When Taunya got back the older kids went to Rachel's tiny house in the woods. They were given material to decorate the house and this evening also picked up a pair of scissors and came back with new outfits for each of them. 

They were pretty pleased with their efforts. They came here for supper then Anna took them to her house for the night. All except poor Abe who has to stay with his mom so she doesn't get lonely.  After supper Tatiana and her filly were moved out of the stall and into the indoor arena for the night. The stall was cleaned and then it was time to come in and work on the pictures and video from today. Finally I am ready to quit work for the day.
