A Fun Show?

Right after the walk the back of the car was emptied to make room for grain and off I drove to the Stock and Field (what use to be Big R) store in Pekin.  Almost everything in the store was advertised as 25% off which kind of worried me. I asked one of the store workers if they were closing and she assured me they are not, but that they are getting rid of most of what Big R sold to make room for the stuff Stock and Field sells.  The good news is the grain was on sale but the bad news could be what they will be replacing it with.  I can only store 14 bags at a time so really can't stock up.  We usually run through 700 pounds of grain every 3-4 weeks depending on what horses I have here. I also picked up two of the 4 way vaccines for Josiah and Joshua. I wanted to buy 3 but they only had 2 of them. It is not recommended to give these vaccines to foals younger than 10 months old (at least that is what the package reads) but if the colts are sold I want them protected before they ship. They are almost 9 months old and plenty big enough. The vaccines are in the fridge as I will wait until there is help here to give them.
The other news we have is that we are planning a fun show. With Beth's grandchildren, Diane's grandchildren and my grandchildren all getting old enough and wanting to ride and show we decided we will do something this summer for them.  Then there are all of Spark's horse crazy grandchildren. Joan has a couple grandchildren that are old enough and kids that are young enough that they qualify, and even Ruth's grandchildren are pretty horse crazy.  We will be using the riding horses for this and will be bringing them home in April.  Sally, Missy and Cookie will be used for this along with Jenis for sure.  Indy and Oksana are both due in March so if we do this later in the summer these two mares could also be used. We have a LOT of grandchildren that want to participate so some of the mares will need to do double duty.
Above areSally, Missy, Cookie and below are Jenis, Oksana and Indy.
All of these mares are experienced in crowds.  This year we have a chance of having some colored foals with Galena, Irish and Lola all expecting AND all of these mares ride too.
Well what ever we come up with, I'm sure the kids will have a blast. Of course IF we hold it here instead of the fairgrounds we could show a LOT more of the horses even the Andalusian mares. Below are Sangria (always a favorite ride) Madiera and Soul.

Why we could even show both of the stallions.
We will just have to see but it is sure fun to dream.  The last horse show we held here was very well attended. We will be taking suggestions from the kids that want to participate so all you parents put your thinking caps on whether or not you want YOUR child or grand child have a chance to shine in the spotlight.
In other news Sarah and Nolan sold TWO more puppies. Milo one of Arrieta's Cavapoo puppies has now been spoken for,
and Marley out of the same litter has also been spoken for.
That is the third puppy out of this litter of 4 spoken for.  Sarah and Nolan really do have adorable puppies!
