Butterflies & Silver Dollar City

We cooked breakfast here at the condo then left for John and Beth's new place. It was less than a 40 minute drive with amazing views of the hills of this area.  John and Beth welcomed us, showed us the house then took us on a tour of the property.

 Rhonda snapped the picture below before climbing on the back to join us.

 John showed us the orginal log cabin on the property. 

 This place has such a history.

 Spark and Rhonda had to pose in the porch area. They have found their new retirement home. 

We left there to head to the Butterfly Palace in Branson. The grand children would really enjoy this place, especially the maze. Below are a few pictures of this place.

 That is not a stature in the picture below, it is a real person. We were amazed at how still she was.

 The butterflies would land on that flower thing mom is holding. 

From there we went back to the condo for left over soup and sandwiches then rested for an hour before leaving for Silver Dollar City. As the land that park is on is very hilly we talked mom into renting a scooter. We were able to get to the first show "A Wonderful Life" in plenty of time and really enjoyed that. As soon as that was over we hoofed to to the next show which was held in the opera house on the other side of the park. That one was The Christmas Carol. As soon as that was over we scrambled to yet another part of the park to watch the Nativity. All 3 shows were entertaining and good shows to get us all in the Christmas spirit.

 By the time the shows were over it was dark and the lights were beautiful.

 Mom was thoroughly enjoying the scooter, zooming around looking at all the lights and not paying attention and THEN came the near accident.The place was so very crowded with people that it was hard to weave in and out for mom she even started using her horn.  Well Spark got in front of the scooter at the WRONG time!

The real story is we were waiting in line for the Christmas Carol and when Spark got down to pose for the picture above and below everyone in line started laughing. We had to send pictures to Jacob and Andrew as years ago they were racing their bikes not watching as mom came around the corner, slammed on the breaks but both boys and their bikes slid under her car.  That year the song was Andrew got ran over by his grandma. 

The lights truly were magnificent!

By this time it was after 8:00 pm and we still hadn't eaten dinner. All the places in Silver Dollar City were closed so we left the park and found a Bar and Grill open. The only food they were serving was pizza so that is what we ate and it was good. Of course hunger is the very best cook.
