Work While the Sun Shines

We had sunshine this morning, Karin and Magda came to take advantage of the few hours of nice weather before the damp cold rain moved in. Karin took Valiant out first and while she was working with him a new bale was put in his paddock. Ribbon's old paddock also got a new bale. I don't have any horses in there but tomorrow when we leave for our trip the two walkers will be put in there and Hadassah moved to the short shelter paddock. That way I won't have to worry about running out of hay while we are gone. Magda arrived and saddled up Jenis and took her to the outdoor arena while Karin worked with Valiant in the round pen.

Karin asked Magda if she would like to switch and Magda was glad for the chance to ride Valiant.

Below Karin is riding Jenis. She makes every horse she rides look really good.

 She finished with asking for a rear and Jenis remembered.

 As the sun was still shining Karin took Valiant back to his paddock and brought out Oksana, tacked her up so she and Magda could head out on the trails. 

 They came back quite a bit later to report a tree down on the cabin lane. Hopefully Mark can take his chain saw and move it off the trail. We worked together splitting wood for a couple hours.

 Kari and 2 of her young sons were taking a walk and stopped by for a short visit.

 We loaded up the golf cart and Mark took a load over to Joan's for Sarah and Hannah. It is certainly cold enough to run a wood burner. Our guests asked if they could use the wood burner in the apartment. Hopefully they had enough dry wood to get the fire going. 

The rain came suddenly and hard this afternoon so all outdoor activities were over. Mark went in to Kroger and bought ingredients to make the gyro cucumber sauce for our meal tomorrow.  I'm thankful for the sunshine this morning and the work we were able to get done then.
