Repairs

Berean was called off today. That gave me an extra day this week and of course I kept forgetting that it ISN'T Wednesday but still Tuesday.  The weather was spitting at us on our walk and was just down right cold. The winds were fierce. That meant indoor work and all the laundry was done today instead of tomorrow. When it finally warmed up to 50 and the sun broke through Isla was taken to the round pen for some updated pictures for the website. She sure inherited the mega hair!  In the winter she is this dark bay but in the summer becomes a lighter bay.

 She has very good movement.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures taken of her today click HERE. A couple ads were placed of her on DraftsforSale.com and equinenow.com.
Isla is also very smart. So far for the last 3 days she has figured out how to remove the chain on her gate and escape. Today Ellie and Faith came over to ride and found her and her companion (Lily's filly) out grazing in the yard.  They put them back in their paddock and later I fixed the chain so she cannot open it tonight.  A new bale was moved into the weanling paddock. I have 6 of them in there now and they are going through each round bale quickly.
The vet clinic got the health papers done and online for Lotus and Cinnamon who are getting picked up tomorrow. Those were printed off and put in with all of Lotus' other papers along with 2 stallion certificates so Cinnamon's foal can be registered and hopefully a foal out of Lotus. The owner of one of Hadassah's fillies by Evan sent this picture today. They are thrilled with her and wanted to breed her except I had to tell them that this filly is related to both of our stallions. Valiant is Hadassah's half brother and Evan is the sire of this filly.
There are some beautiful Friesian stallions in Iowa so hopefully they can find one for the 2020 breeding year. After supper Mark came out to the stall barn to help with some repairs. The weanlings had done some damage during the weaning process, breaking a board and knocking down some of the supports. While he was working on that I got the stalls all clean.
