De-Worming the Weanlings

This morning was Diane's last walk for a week, she and Mike are leaving early in the morning to head back down to Gulf Shores. They are going to be doing work on their condo while it is not rented this coming week.
Today was de-worming day for the 6 weanlings in stalls. Each was given a half of a Quest Plus and each took it very well.  I'm so pleased with how they are doing in their training.  Today they were all worked with but Jewel's colt and Madiera's colt were taken outside one at a time. They are now standing well for putting their halter on and being tied in the stall but now comes the hard part of taking them outside and still be expected to lead quietly and whoa when I stop.  Jewel's colt was the first one out. What is amazing is his movement.  Each year Jewel's foals shock us at how well they move and this colt was no exception. When he took off at a trot I just had to stand back and marvel. Hopefully I can get a video made this weekend when help arrives.

He truly is a beautiful inside as he is on the outside.  This colt MOVES! He is 75% Friesian and 25% Thoroughbred but moves like one of those very expensive European Warmbloods. He is registered with the name Josiah HM in the Friesian Heritage Horse International registry.  He will excel in dressage but also has the mind and bone to do combined training. He was led back to the stall and Madiera's colt taken out. This colt really inherited the mega hair from both his sire Evan and his dam Madiera. That tail is so long and thick it is like a bush.
He isn't even 5 months old yet and his mane lays down on his neck like the yearlings.
He will stay black and is registered and dna'd in the Warlander Book of the Friesian Heritage Horse International registry with the name Joshua HM. He too has great movement but then again his dam is a purebred Andalusian and his sire is Evan.
They were taken back to the stalls and the rest of the weanlings worked with but not taken outside. Hopefully tomorrow I can get two more out.  The next job was to move a bale into the middle paddock then Hadassah moved in with Jenis, Oksana and Lisa. Isla and Ivan were put in the short shelter paddock. Tomorrow Josiah and Joshua will be put in with Galena's filly and Rosaleigh's filly and depending on how well Sheena's colt does with haltering and coming to me, he and Lola's filly may also be put outside.  Sheena's colt is in with Lola's filly since she loves people and is always glad to see people.  The last stall has Lily's filly and Soul's colt. Both were haltered and tied today and both handled all over.
This evening Phil and Anna dropped off the girls, so they could go on a date night. We always have fun when the girls come.
They played with the toys then Taegan found Mark's Kindle and started making videos of Braelyn and Kensley putting on a show.

What is funny about that is we didn't even know this device made videos.  Faith, Ellie and Berlica came over this evening to ride. They were able to turn the outdoor arena lights on and enjoyed a fun ride on Oksana, Hadassah and Jenis.

The weanlings were fed and watered for the last time tonight while they were riding. What a great day!
