More Moving Mares

As today was extremely busy I had to get up to the apartment at 6:00 am to start getting that ready for the guests coming in today. There were 3 loads of laundry so two were taken down to the house and one started at the apartment.  Right after the walk I went right back to work in the apartment but wasn't able to finish before needing to load Jewel and her colt and head to Farmington, to pick up Karin and then to Middle Grove to drop Jewel and her colt off and pick up Lily, her filly, Galena, her filly and Sheena and her colt.
Karin was leading Lily and Galena in the picture above while I was leading Sheena.  In the picture below those horses were watching us leave.
That went pretty well, we were surprised to find the horses down by the road so we didn't even have to hike that far to get them.  It was still hot though and by the time the 6 horses were loaded we just needed to stop at Bs to order a medium cone of soft serve peanut butter ice cream. Now that hit the spot!  After we got home each mare was hosed down then fly sprayed down before putting them in the paddock.  Sheena is in season and was covered by Valiant. Madiera also showed and covered by Evan.  When I was putting them back in Rosaleigh started showing.  I've been waiting for Madiera and Rosaleigh to show for what seems like months and now they both show on the same day. Our guests arrived all the way from Germany. Their daughter is a horse lover so she helped me feed Rosaleigh and Zalena and even helped groom them.
When we were putting Rosaleigh back her filly had to stop for some attention from my helper.
This afternoon Karin  had a group come to ride.  They started with Sangria, Hadassah and Tori in the round pen.

 Even Jarrod the dad rode.
Next they decided to go on a trail ride but they needed more horses. Lily and Star were also brought out for this ride.

They had a great ride. After the ride Karin remarked how wonderful Lily is as a riding horse. She really is a remarkable mare. You see Lily is our miracle horse. At 8 months old she came down with EPM and spent 10 days up at U of I.  When she was brought home she was on strong medicine for about 6 weeks. The U of I vets told me, where she is in her recovery once the medicine is finished is where she is going to stay. At that point she couldn't back up even one step without falling and could only walk. If she tried to trot she would fall. By age two she was perfectly normal.  Now she is a fun ride and has no after affects of EPM
Both of the babies did amazing. They crossed creeks, climbed hills and had fun galloping in the fields.

This evening the Berean meal was started. That will be finished tomorrow morning early. Right now we are heading to bed.
