More Celebration

I left for Middle Grove around 10:00 am which gave me plenty of time to get chores done here.  We had a very relaxing lazy day on the big lake there floating around staying cool. Joan gave us the 'carnival ride' over to the beach.

Everyone had fun swimming or fishing. Below Berlica and Braelyn are fishing for minnows with nets and believe it or not caught some.

 Diane gave us a pontoon boat ride going almost to the end of the big lake.  Ruth brought hats for herself and Nancy and in typical Meister fashion kept the tags on so we could all know they are store bought not garage sale. She paid 50 cents each for those hats at Unclaimed Freight!

 Below we are heading toward where the horses come down to drink.

It is always neat to see that, Diane took the picture below.

Next they took everyone on the safari ride into the summer pasture to see the wild herd of horses.

That is sometimes scary for the non-horse person as the horses quickly surround the vehicle.

Our 'wild' herd loves attention from people, after all most of them out there are Friesian, Andalusian or Gypsy.

I needed to be back by early afternoon as Chuck was bringing over 42 round bales and those would need to be stacked inside as soon as they were dropped.  Mark stayed home today and was able to stack the first 4 loads before I got home. The last 2 loads were delivered after I got home.  I'm sure thankful for a husband that sees a job and willingly does it.  The horses all had to be hosed down today to cool them off. It is just miserably hot for them. The middle paddock was opened up to the pond pasture so those mares could go in the pond to cool down. Dakota, Jamie's mare was hosed down twice. She just suffers so in the heat. The flies were also biting bad today which meant almost an entire of bottle of fly spray was used making sure each horse was covered.  Jewel was teased around 8:00 pm as it was finally starting to cool off. She is now out and can go back to Middle Grove on Monday. This evening we ended up on mom's balcony to watch more fire works. Spark was lighting some off on mom's beach as a prelude for the big show the Sauders were putting on.  In the picture below it was almost dark. A boat was giving tube rides around and around the lake while the girls were holding the sparklers.

We enjoyed the show while visiting with Spark, Rhonda and mom. 

A SPECIAL thanks to the Sauders for putting this on for all of us cheapskates (unwilling to spend money on things that blow up) Rhonda posted the pictures below of the fireworks down at the river on the 4th and shared them with me.

They found the perfect spot to watch. What a celebration of our independence we have been having this entire week.
