Hadassah Sold

Diane, mom, Ruth and I were the only walkers, Joan and Heather left for Bluffton.  The containers heading to Haiti leave from there and Heather does all the shopping for the year while in the states and sends it in the container. Joan use to do the same thing the 7 years they lived there.  I left right after the walk to go to Dick Haefli's visitation before the funeral.  Mark was a little late getting there so he went through a bit later.  On the way home I stopped at Aldi to buy some fresh vegetables for the shepherds pie I was making for the Berean meal. I had just started on that meal when Dr. Hoerr arrived for ultrasounds. Galena and Star were done today. Star was in the process of ovulating so we went right over and got her covered by Valiant.  Galena had already ovulated but she was covered on Saturday so the timing was good for her also. The next scheduled ultrasounds are July 31st which will be 5 mares all for preg checks: Hadassah, Jewel, Sheena,  Madiera and Rosaleigh. Karin took a group out trail riding at Jubilee. They went on a hard trail that took an extra hour.  Hadassah, Sangria, Tori, Missy and Cookie were the other 4 mares that went. Shaeya brought her camera along and they sent these pictures back from their ride.

 Below they are crossing a very sketchy bridge. Shaeya had to get off and lead the younger ones across.

They all enjoyed the trip.

 Taunya left Jack and Jace with me and went to Diane's office to answer phone calls while Mike and Diane were at the dentist. I took the boys over to Rachel's for Funday Monday. There were already a good group of kids there all having a ball in the water. Jordan, Rebekah and Brian's boy decided to go fishing off the dock and using a small hook and a part of a worm caught a big bass. He had quite a time pulling it in and of course had to pose for a picture.

He was a little scared to hold it up for the picture.

They played until they were exhausted.  I bet all of them will sleep good tonight.  

Chuck brought over the last 2 loads of hay this afternoon. Mark stacked them in the barn when he got home from work. We bought 70 bales from Chuck for here and will still need to buy around a 100 for Middle Grove before winter. 

The deposit check came for Hadassah today and she was marked sold. The owner won't be taking her until September and gave us permission to keep riding her as long as she is here.  Hadassah isn't perfect, she still doesn't really like to be caught but she is a great riding horse, solid feeling, no buck, rear and not spooky AND she pays for herself with each foal.
