Brought Home 4 More

It was warm and sunny on our walk for the first time this season. We have had sunshine a few days but not the warmth with the sun until today. Diane walked but then she and Mike took off for Gulf Shores. They flew into Destin, FL, rented a truck and were at their condo by noon.  Mike has some work to do on the condo so they are combining that with a short vacation. Diane told us the beach was not crowded, the waves were rolling and the air was balmy. Gulf Shores is busy preparing for the HangOutFest and Diane reported there are lots of palm trees and tents set up.   After the walk I went right to work on the apartment as we have guests moving in tomorrow.  Gertie arrived with guests to see the foals.
They were given the grand tour and ended up at mom's. At that point I had to leave to meet Kensley's bus. The bus was late and by the time we got back the visitors were all leaving.
We stayed and visited with mom for a bit so Kensley could practice her vaulting moves.   Soon though we headed over to Joan's house and on the way found a turtle. The turtle was taken over so Berlica and Kensley could play with it before letting it go. I left to take the truck and trailer to Middle Grove and met Karin there. We picked up Lily, Madiera, Sheena and Roxanne. The first 3 are all due in a couple weeks but Roxanne needs to be bred and will be bred to Evan.  Tomorrow I'll get updated pictures of these 4 mares.  We are now at capacity at this facility.  As soon as we have Galena, Lola and Soul confirmed in foal they can go out which will open up a paddock.  Karin picked up Studly and came here for a trail riding. Emma was glad to see her buddy. These two stay together when Karin heads out of town.
Today Karin took Tori out on the trails. Tori was ridden a lot last summer but hasn't been touched since we took her to Middle Grove. Today she did wonderful. She is a fun ride but a little out of shape. She struggled today to keep up with the other 4 mares which are all very fit Tennessee Walkers.
Below left to right are Berlica riding Bunni, Rebekah riding Missy, Karin riding Tori, Faith riding Cookie and Hannah riding Sally.

Below Berlica is galloping with no hands!

When they reached the big field, they all lined up for a race. I yelled the countdown and off they ran.  Sally ended up winning with Missy coming in a close second.

If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from the trail ride click HERE. After the ride Tori was teased and again she said "NO" emphatically.
She was put back in with Lisa. We now have Jewel, Tori, Roxanne, and Rosaleigh to get bred. If they ever come in season those stallions are going to be busy. Hope they aren't all in at the same time.
Rebekah got Irish out to show Karin what she has been doing with her.
Both of us were impressed with how well Rebekah is doing with Irish. She is now cantering her in both directions and Irish is listening to her.
Karin gave her a few suggestions for the next training session.
I had to flip another bale for the stalls as the last one was pretty much all gone. I'm too cheap to buy square bales and when we need to stall horses, we flip a round bale up on end, remove the net wrap and can use the pitch fork to pull off wheelbarrow loads for the stalls.
Mark drove mom and me to church tonight. Gregg Rumbold had the message. It was good to be there. We really are blessed with a wonderful church family and ministers that truly minister.
