Big R, Sam's and Middle Grove

We had sunshine this morning, beautiful sunshine and even though the temperature was 44 degrees in the middle of May we will TAKE this weather over the clouds and rain last week. Evan was standing against his shelter enjoying the sunshine too.

 Right after the walk Jewel and her colt were taken out to see if he needed fluids. You can see by the pictures below that colt is doing just fine.

Zalena's filly was also taken out just for a couple pictures.

 She had to taste the grass for the first time.

They were taken back into the indoor arena as I needed to leave for Pekin, IL. I made 2 stops there, the first to Aldi to pick up some crescent rolls for tomorrow's lunch then to Big R to pick up 12 bags of grain. As soon as the grain was unloaded I drove to Sam's club to pick up the rest of the meal for tomorrow's lunch.  Marie, Lola's filly's owner sent a text that she got off work early and could she stop by. I called her right away to see if she would help me remove Jewel's colt's IV and she was more than willing to do that.  He didn't even fight it too bad. Marie had the afternoon off so she came with me to Middle Grove to drop off Indy and Oksana. We met Karin there, hiked up to find the herd all spread out and grazing. Today we brought Marika, Lisa and Tory home.  All three were teased but none of them showed.  Marie went down to say good by to her filly.

Galena's filly and Lola's filly were sound asleep. Lola's filly got up and wandered over to Marie for attention.

Right after Marie left Joan was sent a text to ask for Faith's help. We have someone wanting to see a video of Marika and Faith is always willing to help. Mark arrived and started mowing right as we were taking the video but it didn't bother Marika at all. 

We also took a few still pictures for the website.

Marika really is a pretty mare and not just pretty she is kind. We put her back and took out Lisa. Lisa has grown since we took her to Middle Grove. She turned 3 years old May 5th. 

 She is only a half Friesian but she looks like a purebred and even has a lot of feather. She is 50% Friesian 25% Percheron and 25% Morgan.  Lisa was trained to drive by the Amish. She is going to be bred to one of the stallions but I'm not sure yet which one I want to use.  Evan throws that huge movement and magnificent hair but Valiant throws sweet TALL foals.

We had left overs for dinner then Mark went back out to start grading the drive ways. When he brought the tractor back I moved in two bales. It is now almost 9:00 pm and I'm tired but what a productive day! So very thankful for the sunshine.
