SUNSHINE and 40s

It was 30 degrees while walking but the sun came out and warmed the place up.  I had to have my head examined today, probably because I was looking at expensive Friesian mares and Gypsies. The appointment was at OSF up on 91 at 9:00 am for a MRA (magnetic resonance angiograms). The doctors were actually concerned about the two different diagnoses I received while up at Mayo Clinic Oct 2017. They found a small brain tumor on the lining of my brain called a melengioma and a cluster of tangled blood vessels on the brain stem called a capillary telangiectasia.  There are some that say "she may not have a brain" and some that may say "she has horses on her brain" and today the truth came out. That brain tumor is really looking strange.
Yes that really IS my brain and the tumor up there looks strangely like a horse so maybe I do have horses on the brain. Now for the record that tumor may be doctored up a bit. Below is what it really looks like. Blame Karin for the one above. She was the person that suggested drawing a horse up there.
The news today was good. The tumor and the telangiectasia haven't changed much in the year and a half so I can't use the excuse any more of the brain tumor when I can't remember someone's name. Bummer.
Karin and Rebekah came today to start Irish Surprise, the Gypsy mare we got in January. She is kind of muddy today but the sun was shining and the temps in the 40s, it was more than time to get her started. She had a ball in the round pen, galloping and bucking.

She finally settled down to work.

IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures from today click HEREWhy oh why do we own a white horse? Every bit of mud shows. I can't use any of the pictures on the website. After all who wants to see a muddy horse.  Our plan is to breed her to Evan for a mega hair Gypsian foal with HUGE movement.  We never wanted a Gypsy as they don't really have the best gaits but Irish has surprisingly big open movement and should throw an amazing foal by Evan. For a better view of that thick double sided mane check out the picture below.
She will need a long warm bath with lots of that whitening shampoo before we take new pictures for the website and it is going to have to get much warmer for that to happen.
