Road Work

It was raining a little on the first round of the walk but had stopped by the second. After the walk I was able to move 3 bales in. The first was in the short shelter paddock and Lola and Marika were moved into that paddock. The next was into the middle paddock plus an old bale moved out of there. Oksana, Indy and Irish were moved into that paddock. Galena was moved out of Valiant's paddock into the paddock next to Evan's just to hold her there until a bale could be moved into Ribbon's old paddock. As soon as that paddock had a new bale Galena and Anna were moved into that paddock. I had to quit then as Kensley's bus was due and she was coming to my house to help grandma.  She helped with feeding the weanlings. Below she is petting Roxanne's filly and Tatiana's colt.
Gideon was glad to see Kensley coming.
 He really likes people.
About then the man bringing the drum ride on roller called to say he couldn't make the turn into the drive and wanted someone to come down to the road to help slow down traffic. Kensley was put to work holding a stop sign as the man unloaded the truck.

He got it safely unloaded and drove it up to the top of the hill then gave me directions on how to start and run it.
Karin arrived to give a riding lesson to Livy and Emma on Indy and Oksana.
Mark arrived at the same time to start work on the road. He spread gravel in the pot holes then ran the roller over the holes.
Karin had the girls take the 2 horses to the round pen for their lesson. Below is a short video of them cantering the mares.
Kensley had fun watching.
About that time Anna arrive to pick up Kensley so Emma came out to enjoy the sunshine on the patio.
She is really getting old and gray just like the rest of us old folks.
When Spark arrived he went to work digging the trench with the small Kubota for the culvert. The trench needed to be dug right where there were lots of thorns, sharp thorns.

I also helped with the digging. Below is a short video of the job.
By the time the culvert was in place it was time to grab some dinner and get ready for church.  We picked up mom, Diane and Faith.  Tim Roecker had the message reading first in Lamentations and then Ephesians. He really was inspired tonight and we were very glad we went. Our church family is so very special and it isn't the same listening on line!
