First Sign

Ruth, Joan and I walked this morning. Karin was not walking on the beach today, she was busy fishing for shark. They were having another beautiful morning.
I left for Berean a little early and had a good morning working there. If you would like to read about that click HERE.
As soon as I got home the mare's udders were all checked and Anna had waxing. Anna usually always goes late and I was hoping she would go late this year as we have guests in the apartment and using the barn.  Anna was put in the back field and I considered leaving her out there tonight but the temperature is suppose to be right at 32 degrees by morning. I don't think she will go tonight but just didn't want to take a chance. The collies puppies were using the foaling stall and needed to be moved but first the new stall needed to be cleaned and 4 bags of bedding spread. This pelleted bedding needs to be sprinkled with water to make it fluffy. I don't do it for the horses as they crush it with their hooves but puppies don't have hooves.  Once that stall was ready the 4 puppies moved over.  The foaling stall was stripped and scrubbed down and 4 more bags of bedding brought in for Anna. Anna was brought in around 8:00 pm. The dogs were pretty excited at first having something else in the barn but they soon settled down as did Anna. A note was left for the guests to explain why the puppies were moved and Anna was inside so I can watch her on the monitor. When the guests arrived back from the dog show they were fine with all of that and are hoping Anna delivers while they are still here. They don't leave until Sunday. Horse people and dog people are sure alike, they help out when needed. When I checked the monitor they were cleaning Anna's stall.
Below is Samantha and Raven's daughter with her son born Feb 18th, 2019.
We sold Samantha in foal, we heard she had a filly but hadn't kept up with her owner. She was born May 20th, 2011 and turned out gorgeous. She rides but also drives double or single and has been driven in parades.
Her owner writes she is a nice easy mare to work with.
