First Snow

We awoke to 2 inches of snow this morning. As we walked, when the wind blew the snow would come down from the leaves all at once like a blizzard.
Mom got busy and made the first snowman of the season. Each year there is a contest to see who can make the first one and mom WON this year.  Joan's kids felt like she wasn't playing fair. They had to go to Co-op this morning. Mom won fair and square though, they could have gotten up earlier.
I fed the weanlings after the walk.  Zalena's colt must be fed alone as the others were stealing his grain. Each day he is put in the field with his bucket of grain.
I'm sure hoping he picks up weight quickly as the cold is coming.  The other weanlings each have their own bucket and each is content to stay at their bucket until the buckets are emptied.
Below is Valiant, I was trying to get a picture of him in the snow but he had to come running over too fast so I only got a head shot.
Galena though is most content to stay out grazing.
Tory and Anna were out back by the pond but Oksana came up for a picture.
Below is beautiful Lisa. She really really wanted me to put her out with Zalena's colt. She is pretty good about sharing a bucket with him but she eats much quicker than he does and she doesn't need as much grain as he gets. Her papers came in the mail today. I need to get her papers transferred to the Friesian Heritage Horse registry like the rest of our horses. She really is a beautiful mare.
I saw this car go by heading down to the road with the garbage on the top, who ever was driving it got all the way out to the road before remembering the garbage. They turned around and came back to the dumpster.
That is Evan in the picture below.
The Japanese Maple has only 1 leaf left still hanging on.  We are having lots of wind tonight so I think it won't be there in the morning.
I had the fire going all day in the living room wood burner. Today was shopping at Kroger, they had turkeys for 69 cents a pound. I bought a 21 pounder. We still need another turkey but I need to wait until after Sunday to purchase another one as that one needs to go in the apartment freezer and we have guests in there until Sunday afternoon.
