Middle Grove Drop Off

When Karin arrived early this morning to work horses I was really glad. Evan and Valiant needed to be moved back into their own paddocks so the pond pasture can be used for mares. She helped with first getting Oksana covered by Evan then moving the stallions and finally teasing and covering Star. We are not really sure she is having a 'real' heat but she did stand and accept Valiant.  Her next job was to work with Oksana.

I ran down to the house to eat some breakfast while she worked Oksana. As soon as Oksana was finished we started pulling tail hair.  Madiera's filly needed to have hair pulled as did Star's colt, Zalena's colt, Roxanne's filly and Rosaleigh's filly.  The tail hair needs to be sent in with the paper work to register and dna the foals. I always try to make sure that the hair is pulled before I take the foal out to Middle Grove.  We got all of that done except Rosaleigh's filly who was at Middle Grove.  Madiera and her filly were loaded into the stock trailer and hauled out to Middle Grove.  Below her filly now named Isla had already jumped out of the trailer first and Madiera is just stepping out.
Karin brought the tick and fly spray and our job today was to spray down each horse and of course pull some tail hair from Rosaleigh's filly. We were pretty thrilled with how well the tick and fly spray is working.  Ayanna and her colt had been rolling in the big mud puddle cooling off and covering their body with mud.
Ayanna's colt didn't understand why we wouldn't pet him and kept following Karin around. She finally pet him on the only clean spot, under his jaw. He is such a funny colt.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from that trip click HERE.  As soon as I got home I started working on the registrations for the left of the foals. That took longer than expected and by the time I had 6 ready to go out to the mail it was afternoon. The registrations were taken to Diane's office for mailing and while there the checkbook was balanced. Finally I made it home with just enough time to get the apartment ready for our next guests coming tomorrow. We can't wait for these guests. Taunya is bringing Addyson, Jack, Jace and Abe to stay for 3 weeks.
Mark drove mom, Diane and I to church tonight where instead of church we got to hear a testimony and witness a baptism. As soon as I got home from that Roxanne and her filly were put outside and her stall cleaned for tomorrow. Her filly is now named Giselle and her registration and dna was sent in to find out who her sire is.
