Christmas Lights

Taegan and Kensley came over today and helped grandma put up Christmas lights. Well they didn't actually help, they were too busy playing with the new toys as grandma put them up but afterward they all agreed the lights were beautiful.
Today the paper work was finished for the two colts leaving next week. Dublin will be picked up on Wednesday and Eli will be picked up on Friday. The best part about Dublin leaving Wednesday is I didn't have to haul him back to the vet clinic for his health certificate for travel. Dublin was there Nov 30th, to get his blood drawn for his Coggins test which is well within the 30 days the health papers are good for. Not only did I NOT have to drive to the vet clinic, it is all done on line now. I could just download and print out both the Coggins paper and the health certificate. Below is Dublin.
Eli's owner is from Illinois so he doesn't need a health certificate, just Coggins test which was done a couple months ago. His owner is going to be thrilled. He has the most feather of all of our weanlings, is tall and such a friendly fellow.
This evening Mark and I took the big white van over to Phil and Anna's and picked up their 3 girls then met Sarah, Nolan, Zion, Israel, Elisabet, Rhoda, Lee, Diane, Willow, Tate and Crew for dinner at Chick-fil-a in East Peoria. The grandchildren had a lot of fun playing in the small playground then eating dinner together.

Elisabet was the last to finish her meal. Below she is telling me, "all gone"!
Poor Zion saw the food just keep passing her by.
After dinner we all piled in the big van and had Nolan drive us to the festival of lights. This evening was a perfect time to go, the weather is mild and the line was short. We all enjoyed the beautiful lights of the season. Below are just a few of the floats. They really are impressive and it cost $10.00 a car load to drive through. We got our money's worth by taking the big van.

Amazing to think I've lived in the area all my life and have never gone to this before. On the way home we also drove through the nativity display also in East Peoria. They told us what radio station to put on to hear the Christmas story as we drove through looking at the displays. The first was of Joseph and Mary at the Inn asking for a place to stay, the next was the stable, the 3rd was when the wise man came to the town to see the Christ child and the last was supposed to be (we think) Herod's palace. Rhoda and Lee handed out glow sticks at the end. What a nice way to get into the Christmas spirit.
