Expected Vet Visit

I had such plans today, plans to have Ripper gelded, blood drawn on the weanlings, Ribbon and Eliza's teeth checked but these didn't plan out. Dr. Hoerr got sent on an emergency and had to cancel. We are down now for Monday.
I spent a little time working on the Berean Blog updating Spark's notes and writing about our Thursday volunteers. If interested in any of that click HERE
If interested in the rest of Friday keep reading.  Anna dropped off the girls this morning early enough that they got to come on the golf cart for part of the walk. When we got back it was time for fun and games. Below Braelyn and Taegan were playing horse on the princess table. They were pretending the horses were lost and pretend crying while playing. It sounded pretty real.

Kensley found the wrapping paper and was having fun calling into it.

When I was cleaning it up it gave me a good idea. Braelyn and Taegan each picked the roll of paper they wanted and we cut out pictures from that. A paper plate was covered with a different kind of paper then their cut outs were taped on the plate where ever they wanted them to go. By the time we finished the plates we had paper everywhere but the girls were thrilled with their decorations.
While we were waiting for the vet to come Emily and Kyla (her friend from Forest) haltered and worked with the 5 weanlings. Below Emily is working with Winston. This colt was born April 7th out of Prissy by Valiant. He is very tall and smart. He learns very quickly. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some video of his movement and better pictures.

Below Kyla is working with Zoey, Zalena's filly by Evan. She is very sweet and is the least pushy in this group of 5.
I didn't get pictures of the other 3 but in this paddock is Walter, Sangria's colt by Valiant, Whistler, Sheena's colt by Valiant and Zara, Ribbon's filly by Valiant. Zara is the boss of the group. Like mother like daughter, she gets the best of the hay and any bucket of grain she wants, the rest scurry away when she walks up or decides to eat out of their bucket.
Emily had a full afternoon. She teased and covered Dakota with Valiant, she moved the trailers out of the way and burned the burn pile, cleaned stalls, moved manure and worked with Ripper in the round pen. This was Rippers very first time for round pen reasoning and he did better than expected.
Mark got home early and right after supper we cleaned up, picked up mom and drove in to Peoria for Aunt Jean's visitation and funeral.
