Foal Pictures

There never seems to be enough time to get updated pictures of the foals around here. The foal pictures on the horsemeister website were just pathetic. Some of the foal pages only had just born or 3 days old and some maybe had a few at a month old pictures. This morning I got out there around 6:30 to get a few before the walk. I had time to get 3 done before the walk and 2 after. Below is Hadassah's filly by Evan. She is 8 days old today, 75% Friesian and absolutely exquisite.

 I only took a few of her, she is very photogenic but I was lazy and didn't take her or Whitney's filly out of the paddock so only got 3 usable one. Below is Whitney's filly by Valiant. This filly is hard to get a good shot, she is very curious about the camera and won't stay far enough away. I got just a couple of her when she took off running around her mom.

 Next out was Emma's colt by Evan. Now this boy was a joy to work with. He loves to be the center of attention and knows how to pose. The 3 pictures below are of him. His owner's named him William as in the Prince William and he really does think he is royalty.

After the walk Emily helped get out Prissy and her colt by Valiant. He is turning out to be a lovely boy, upright movement, long neck and very nicely marked. After seeing his pictures I almost upped his price from $4000.00 to $4500.00 but didn't end up doing that. Someone is going to get a bargain.

 This boy struts around like he is the king. He is registered with Friesian Heritage Horse but his papers haven't come yet and I can't remember what we named him. I think his name is Winston.

We put him away just as Karin was pulling Ribbon out for vaulting. Indy's filly decided to join her and followed Karin over to the hose. Ribbon loves getting hosed off but Zenia (Indy's filly) did not which made for some interesting pictures.

 Karin walked Ribbon back to the pasture and Zenia followed right behind her cutting in front of Zara, Ribbon's filly.

Right after vaulting Karin and I loaded up the 5 walkers and hauled them to Middle Grove. About half of the herd was standing at the gate waiting for us when we arrived. We unloaded the horses then started looking around for the rest of the herd. They all started showing up except Jenis, Zalena and Zoe, Zalena's filly. We could not leave without making sure they were ok and started hiking the hills calling. By the time we reached the top and still couldn't see them decided to just send Emily out looking on a 4 wheeler, turned around started hiking back, looked over at the herd and there they were. They must have been down by the creek getting a drink when we first arrived.  The horses all looked great but the Friesians are getting harder and harder to tell apart. There are 8 out there and we were able to identify each one after looking them over carefully. Karin remarked it is bad when 2 year old untrained Rosalie can be mistaken for some of the trained horses. We stopped at Bs for a small ice cream cone on the way back. When we got back Karin left for Funday Monday at Rachel's. I came in to post the new pictures of the foals on the website while waiting for Anna to bring the girls over. Anna ended up cancelling though, Braelyn came down sick.

We had another good lead on Lila. Rhoda called all the vet clinics in the area to see if Lila had been brought in over the weekend and sure enough Tri-County Animal Clinic reported that a lady from Hanna City brought her in. They scanned the microchip but didn't have the updated information to give her Rhoda's number and gave her the original owner's phone number who happens to live in Chicago. Rhoda called him but just got his answering machine so was only able to leave a message. Sure hope he calls her before he drives down from Chicago. I'm only 5 minutes away from Hanna City. Rhoda made up some flyers. Mom has the only color printer so we printed up 3 at her house, I'll post them tomorrow at a few of the Hanna City businesses.
