Emergency Surgery

Emma had a terrible night last night, whining loudly wanting to go in and out numerous times then standing at the side of our bed panting. At 5:00 am she gave birth to one very dead puppy and a huge puddle of black discharge. This is extremely dangerous for a dog, they can become toxic quickly and die. As soon as Dunlap Vet clinic was opened she was taken there where Dr. John Calhoun performed emergency surgery to remove her uterus. This was at the Peoria location of Dunlap Vet which is pretty close to the Berean office so I wasn't too late in to work this morning.
We had a good crew and got a lot done. All the studies were processed and all the letters read and entered and the labels printed for the Bible mailing but we only had 9 boxes of Bibles at the office. We have over 300 more requests waiting to be filled. We have a pallet of Bibles at Meisters, just didn't have any way to get them here. Justin, Marie's 10 year old son told us he would be more than willing to bring the Bibles if he just had a truck. Diane remarked he was going to need one BIG phone book to see over the steering wheel and a license would probably help too.
Emily wasn't able to join us, she was needed to show Killian to a prospective buyer. Diane stopped at Sam's for her groceries and picked up a few items we needed here so I could make it back in time to meet the buyers. They watched Emily ride Killian, video taped him, then rode him walk, trot and canter. Emily also showed them how he will bow and lay down on command.
The buyer is taking the video back to her trainer then if the trainer approves of what she sees she will come down with the buyer for the next step.
Dr. Calhoun called to report Emma could be picked up at 4:00 pm. She was still groggy but he felt she would do better at home than an unfamiliar place for the night. I was able to get her into the car then once home she was able to stagger into the bathroom, laid down and didn't move for the evening. Mom invited us over to watch the debates but we could only stay for an hour, I am just too exhausted from the bad night last night. I'm too tired to down load pictures, will just have to get up early tomorrow.
