Praise Him in the Storm

The picture above was taken this morning around 8:30 am. This storm came rolling in dropping an inch of rain on the fields all while we were in church. We had another blessed day. Mike Rieker had the morning service on 1 Samuel 5, 6 and then 7 to finish the story of how the Israelite's lost the Ark and then what happened to each city until it was sent back. Fascinating story! If interested pull out your Bible and learn what a great God we serve. This afternoon Dave Obgerfel had the service opening first to Proverbs and then to Matthew 6. Where are our treasures? Who do we serve? Can we serve more than one master? We heard how Jesus wants our whole heart, not most, not a little but all.
After church more storms came rolling in, very strong storms with damaging winds. The winds picked up our heavy glass patio table, then slammed it down shattering the glass. The heavy metal base of the umbrella that was in the middle was even picked up and just so you know the umbrella was closed not open. The rain gauge was ripped out of the ground and blown quite a ways. Emma and her colt by Evan were brought inside before the second storm hit and left inside for the night. As long as he was inside he got a haltering lesson, tying lesson and lots of handling. There is a flash flood warning for the entire area. The rain came down in sheets flying horizontal slamming into the house, windows and doors. Sarah and Nolan went to the check the apartment Nolan is renting on Baer to find the rain had flooded their 3rd floor upstairs apartment. The windows were shut and locked but leaked what Sarah felt like was gallons. We will have to check that situation out. Hopefully none of the other apartment windows leak that bad. The rumble of thunder is almost constant but no longer close. The rainfall is so heavy it is exceeding 5 inches according to weather.com  Rain is still falling but softly now. We will praise God for the rain.  Forget what I said about the rumble of thunder the house shook with that last crash. We have Ebby inside visiting Darcy and Emma. It is past our bedtime but I hate to send her out in the storm to go home. Maybe I'll just have to stay up a little longer.
