Diane wasn't going to come in to work today, she is a little over whelmed with her work at home and the law office after being gone for 2 weeks. We told her she really needed to come in today but could take Thursday off. The reason why will be revealed in a bit.
Emily and I were first down then. Eva Jean arrived next, walked in and stopped dead. Even though she knew about the mess it was still a shock.
Shirley walked in next and just grinned. All of us wanted to be there before Diane arrived. You see Diane doesn't let us leave the office until it is swept up and Thursday we just walked out and drove home. well maybe we scattered a few boxes around but the rest was from getting the Bibles out.
Diane arrived and instead of finding a new office or more space in this office she walked into the mess and retorted, "no wonder I had to come!"
Kathy and Dave who didn't know anything about it were kind of shocked. Kathy asked, "did a raccoon get in here or something?
They all got busy quickly on reading letters of which there were a LOT!
While Diane and I swept up the office.
Joyce then Rhoda arrived to help today as did Joan and 4 of her kids, Hannah, Faith, Mackenson and Berlica all pitched in to help. We stopped for pizza around 12:15 pm then went right back to work. We were able to finish all the studies but ran out of Bibles
again! We will have to get the rest out on Thursday. Tim Martin promised another 300 wrapped Bibles by then.
Rhoda and Emily went to the farm to get a few horses worked. When I arrived Emily was riding Jurista.
Rhoda finished up some trick training with her then I took her back to the cabin while Emily watered the arena and Rhoda worked Piper.
Piper was doing so well Rhoda took her outside to see if she could tolerate the windy conditions. Piper did great, no buck, no rear and only one scoot forward when she got frightened by a particularly huge gust of wind slamming into her rear end. Piper has a lovely canter. It is well balanced and much smoother than expected.
Rhoda asked her to walk on the bridge, she wasn't too happy about it but did it then did it each time she was asked.
Piper is not considered a beginner mare, she is huge and can take advantage, but is learning to lead nicely and stood very well for mounting. Serenity was the next horse out to be work. This is another really nice mare. She has had lots of training and it showed.
Rhoda had fun trotting and cantering her around the arena.
Emily left for Middle Grove to work on fencing with Mike. Mark had to work late and the middle paddock was out of hay. I gave them a couple wheel barrow loads until Mark got home to help move in a round bale.
We had a mare come today for breeding to Evan. Her owner had the vet palpate her and told her to take her right over. Since we used Evan this morning to cover Kensie I wanted to wait until this evening to cover Pat's mare. Unfortunately she wouldn't tease and wouldn't stand. We will have to try tomorrow morning.
Sheena and Sangria were put back in the stalls and Pat's mare was turned out for the evening. Every paddock is full and most of the stalls. We really need to get these mares bred, sonagrammed and out of here before the next customers come.
