60 Degrees

By walk time it was 30 degrees outside firming up the soft mud into something that could be walked on without covering the soles of shoes. Anna dropped off the 3 girls this morning. Even before the temperature started to climb the girls wanted to play outside. It didn't take long for the shirts to come off. Braelyn enjoyed playing in the snow by filling cups then dumping them on the drive so Taegan could smash it. Braelyn is a good builder and Taegan is a great smasher so they make a good team.

 Soon the pants were wet from the snow and uncomfortable so off they came, but by this time the thermometer had hit 60 degrees. That's the first time this year. The sunshine felt wonderful.  Braelyn spent a lot of time building with the bricks she would haul out of the garage one at a time, carry it across the drive so she could build a tower on the retaining wall.

Rachel stopped over and enjoyed sitting on the patio visiting a bit then Karin stopped in to enjoy the sunshine before she worked horses. She had 3 visitors come today and took them on the 'death trails' even though it was muddy and slippery. She rode Whitney while the guests rode the Friesian mares. 

No pictures, Emily still has the camera. The horses were all enjoying the weather too, splashing and playing in the mud puddles. Rhoda and I did some wedding shopping by phone today ordering the water carafes for the tables, renting coffee pots and ordering the boneless wings, meatballs and peanut butter pies from the hog trough.
Mark drove Ruth, mom and I to church. Tim Funk had the service. Joan drove Ruth and mom home as we stopped for food after church. There isn't much food in the house and I haven't been able to go shopping since before we left for the fair last week. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to a grocery store. Mom came home from working at the Midwest Food Bank with a new pair of tennis shoes for me. She said it was an early birthday gift. She stopped at a shoe store on her way home. She did NOT buy the shoes at Midwest Food Bank, she volunteers at the food bank each month. The shoes were very needed. Thanks mom!
