Moving Manure

Emily spent most of the day moving manure from the paddocks into the manure spreader then spreading it on the fields. It was perfect timing. She worked until the rain started now everything she spread will be watered and leached into the soil enriching the soil for next year. The rain started late this afternoon and is suppose to continue for the next 2 days. Perfect perfect timing. Emily got Valiant's, Evan's, Killian's, and the breeding shed paddocks done and some of the middle paddock before the rain made the paddocks too slippery. We will clean the shelters out when Mike brings the Yanmar back.
Today was also weaning day for Eliza's filly, Tryn. Eliza was taken to Middle Grove and Tryn was left in the stall alone.
Her owner will be picking her up Saturday morning. The picture above was taken in August, I can't believe how she has changed. Maybe tomorrow I can get some new pictures of her before she leaves us. She really is one of the special ones.
Mika and Sally were brought back from Middle Grove as they will be needed on Saturday for the scheduled trail ride at the Giant Goose Ranch in Canton. We will be hauling 9 horses there for that afternoon.
Around 200 Bibles were sent out today, yesterday's volunteer crew had some ready for labeling so it wasn't too long of a job. Mark helped load them in the van so I could haul them to the post office. The next job was to take the new truck over to East Peoria Tire, buy 2 new tires and have them mounted. They also put the spare back up under the truck where it belongs. On the way back I stopped at TSC to pick up a bag of Safe Choice Original. Tryn was started on that today by mixing it with her feed.
The car was taken in to French's at 2:00 for an oil change and to get 2 tires repaired. Both tires on the drivers side kept going flat. Both tires will need to be replaced soon. We sure are hard on tires around here.
I've been fighting a bad cold since Sunday and didn't feel I should go to church to infect anyone. Mark and I listened on line.
