Scheduled Trail Ride

Phil dropped off the girls and they got to go on the second round of the walk with us old ladies (sorry Rachel to them you are considered old). We got to do the second round on the golf cart. When that golf cart ride was finished all three of us, Taegan, Braelyn and I climbed into the skid steer to move a round bale in for the pond pasture. Since I was the only adult around and the horses were across the pond up on the hill I thought they wouldn't notice if I opened the gate first then got the bale but I was wrong. By the time we got the bale around the barn and into that pasture the only horses left in there were Lola and her colt now named Magnum. Lola has a thing with open gates, she stands there and snorts as if to let us know, "hey there is something wrong over here, yoo hoo, the gate is open." Her previous owners must have taught her not walk out of the gate without a leader unlike our unruly herd. The loose horses went right into the stall barn and into the stalls, that is all except Ella pony and her colt, she walked right into the feed stall and got into the grain. The mares that were standing patiently waiting in their stalls were rewarded with a bit of grain while Ella pony was taken right out to the pasture with Lola. After the rest of the horses were all put where they belonged we took the golf cart over to the playground.
We came in for lunch and while grandma was cooking the girls were serenading me with beautiful music.
Taegan took a nap while Braelyn played quietly in her room for an hour and then it was over to the pond.
When Phil picked them up they were so sandy they needed a dunk in the tub before he could take them home. Karin arrived to get ready for the trail ride scheduled for tonight. She got Cheyenne worked and the arena raked and still had some time to spare.
The Wagonbach family arrived at 6:00 pm. Karin, Hannah and Anni got busy bringing in the mares and tying them up to be tacked up. 8 horses were used tonight. Ribbon, Jenis, Indy, Anna, Missy, Cookie, Bonnie and Cheyenne.
Below is the Wagonbach family all ready to ride. The rest of the pictures are placed on the Horsemeister Inc Facebook page.
After the trail ride they got to see and pet each of the 5 newest foals then watch Evan do his tricks in the outdoor arena. Once all the horses were put away we headed over to the playground for a campfire. Mom had it going perfectly for cooking sweet somemores and salty bacon slabs, the perfect ending to a great day.
The lady that bought Lily's colt by Valiant sent this update and picture.
Such a good boy!!! Before, I would hold the lead as I bathed him. This is his "first-tied" bath. He was a perfect gentleman as I soaked him up, picked his feet, and conditioned his tail. He does not have ANY "do not touch me" spots! Valiant & Lily must have amazing dispositions!!!!
Now do you see why we bred Lily back to Valiant!
