Snow Tires Off Sheena In

Sheena came in today and was covered by Valiant. He is reminding us more and more of his sire Raven. He is behaving very well for a young stallion, no longer rushing the mare and listening to his handler of course it helps that he is being used twice a day.
The snow tires came off the car today. Hopefully we will not be seeing any more snow until late next winter.
Eliza and her 2 day old filly by Valiant were let out in the field for the morning.
After a good graze Eliza took her right around the barn and stood at the door waiting for someone to let them in. We wouldn't open the door as we were laying mats down in the aisle way.
We had almost finished when we got the call that the car was ready to be picked up. It got a much needed oil change, the tires exchanged and the bike rack taken off. Emily finished the field mowing, most of the yard mowing then weed whacked and graded the arena.
As both Sunny and Misty were going to the Pekin Riding Club show this evening she worked both horses lightly and a short video was taken of each one. That will be worked on tomorrow.
We left for the show at 5:50 pm and by the time we pulled in that place was packed with what seemed to be hundreds of horse trailers, some were so huge they had to be pulled with a semi truck. Misty was the surprise of the night for us. She was very well behaved and won a blue ribbon in halter.
Misty was also in 2 other riding classes against many big horses. She didn't place in either of those but did everything that was asked of her, quietly walk, trot, canter, and reverse. Sunny wasn't as good as we expected. He is doing so well at home we expected him to shine. He brought a 4th and a 6th in 2 of his classes. The riding classes were all held after the sun went down so no pictures. I still haven't figured out how to take pictures in the dark with no flash and be able to see them.
He was so good during the practice always taking the correct lead at the canter when warming up then in the ring he took the wrong lead BOTH directions.

  1. I loved your photos on FB of this show. It looked so friendly and relaxed - I wish we had similar shows here in AZ.
