Indy & Killian

After the walk Emily pulled Indy out to make a video of her training. We are so pleased with this mare. Watch her video below, she has a few minor turning issues but is coming along nicely.

As Emily was putting Indy away she noticed Marika's new hat. Marika had her head buried in the round bale, pulled it out and then had to pose for us. There is no question she is pregnant.
The propane truck showed up just as I was getting ready to leave for work. It was the first time here for the driver so I had to show him where the tanks were. That was a pleasant surprise, the apartment tank took only 358 gallons and the house tank took 367 gallons to fill. Both tanks are 500 gallons and were last filled almost 2 years ago. After work Mark and I met with William J (Bill) Stoller for financial advice. Mark really wanted to figure out if he should retire and start collecting social security or wait until he turns 66. We finished up there around 5:00 pm so stopped at HiVee for a few groceries and dinner.
We made it home before dark. Amy Koch had come over for a visit to show her grand daughters Zalena's colt and left a nice surprise.
We now have a welcome flag outside the house. Thank you Amy!
Killian was pulled out for a short video of his canter work. The video was made just before sunset so it is a little dark.

Of course a few pictures needed to be taken also.
After Emily was done with the canter work she asked Killian to bow then lay down.
The bow went just as asked but the lay down... he was more than ready for a nap after that hard work.

The sun was just starting to set as we finished up. That  colored the western sky with gorgeous pinks, purples, reds and gold.
Last night our smoke alarms kept chirping every few minutes. Mark tried putting in new batteries but this didn't stop the noise. Tonight he disconnected the wires on them then came carrying down all 3 smoke alarms and each was still chirping. what was weird was he had already removed all of the batteries. How can they keep making noise when they are not wired in and have no batteries? We are ready to take them outside and use a sledge hammer to stop the noise. Or we could throw them in the car and make sure the windows are up, maybe then we won't be able to hear them. So until Mark can either fix these or buy new ones we will not be protected. Any of you neighbors smell smoke wake us up please.
The day is now gone and night is upon our side of the earth and our nice soft bed awaits.
