900 Pounds

Darcy loves to come along on the cart each day, it doesn't matter where we are going she just wants to go. This morning it was up to feed the horses and I wasn't quite quick enough for her. Below she is telling me to get moving.
The camera was along so a few pictures were taken of the 24 hour old foals. Below is Sangria's filly taking a nap in the field.
Both foals had a good time trying out their long legs after spending the night in the stall. Sally's colt was leaning up against her too tuckered out to lay down.
It didn't take long for him to flop down too.
By 10:00am it was just too hot outside to leave them in the sun and they were brought back inside. After the horses were fed and stalls cleaned I took a trip to my favorite store TSC. Just walking into the place is enjoyable, I could just stand there breathing in deep breaths smelling the sweet grains and leather.
I stuffed this little Toyota Matrix car with 500 pounds of grain and 400 pounds of bedding and then went to Aldi to stuff groceries into the already stuffed car. Once home the groceries were unloaded but the 900 pounds of grain and bedding were left in the car. When Rhoda and Emily got home from school they unloaded it all, cleaned the stalls again, fed and watered the horses.
After supper Mark and Emily worked on fencing until it was too dark to see. I had to jump in the cart to get the camera the sun was a big red ball hanging low in the sky. By the time I got back out it was almost down.
Pictures just didn't do it justice. The real thing was such a bright red glowing ball sinking below the tree line. There is still no rain in sight, just day after day of hot sunny dry weather.
