Marika
Well we drove almost 800 miles to look at a 16 hand 3rd premie FHANA registered Friesian mare named Markia who is in foal to a gorgeous purebred Friesian stallion due the end of April to replace Ylse, not that any mare could replace our beloved Ylse only to find Markia was not as advertised. She really is a 3rd premie FHANA registered mare in foal but she was NOT 16 hands. She has a nice long neck, thick long tail, feather that starts at the back of the knee down to the ground thick and curly but... isn't there always a but? she was short, obviously not 16 hands. We decided to buy her anyway, she has a wonderful disposition and will have a foal in three short months. She traveled well, she is very sweet, pretty and willing. Once back at the Hanna City farm she was taken into the barn and sticked. Rhoda guessed 15.1, I thought maybe 15.2 but we were both wrong, she is only 14.3 hands. She just looks taller because of her upright elegant long neck. Rhoda jumped on for the picture below. It was snapped quickly with the phone, just too tired to do any more than see how she acts then settle her for the night.
