Beautiful and Handsome

The trip to Missouri went about as planned except down in the boonies the GPS quit working, good thing there was cell service or I would never have found the place. The GPS starts demanding a left turn where there was no turn at all, not even a road. Of course when the truck didn't turn ole bossy Betty starts in with her nasal voice, "recalculating, recalculating, recalculating" and then goes silent. Never knew that device would be at a loss for words.
Zalena was a pleasant surprise. She is much lovelier than her picture. After spending almost an hour visiting with her owner, business was done and off I started for home. Dark clouds were forming in the North and it didn't take long for the storm to hit. Rain was slashing into the truck window, flashes of lighting and the crack & boom of the thunder made for a harrowing trip. If that wasn't enough just outside of St. Louis traffic came to a screeching halt then crawled along at 5-10 miles an hour for over 30 minutes.
Steven, Karin, Mike, Diane and Rhoda made a welcoming committee where all of Zalena's good points were gone over. Steven lunged her so we could evaluate her movement and we were pleased with that also.
The lady we bought Killian from emailed this picture of his dam.
So crossing this STAR mare above with the APPROVED sire below we ended up with a very handsome fellow.

Now for sure I'll have to hire Rachel Sauder of momentscapturedbyrachel.com to come take pictures of our 2 new beauties.
I'm heading to bed, after 3 days and 2 nights of driving it's time to STAY HOME for a few days.

  1. I for one can't WAIT to see those photos... I hope you didn't have a horse in a trailer during that storm!
