The IL Horse Fair

We have most of our preparations done for the big IL Horse Fair. One I am thrilled about is the hay. I found a seller of alfalfa square bales about 20 miles from the fairgrounds who was willing to deliver 20 bales right to our stall, which means NO hauling the hay out of the barn and up into the truck or on top of the trailer then out of the trailer and into barn 14. So much less work this way. The farmer wrote that it is pure alfalfa so should be ok even if it is first cutting we will be glad. We like to give the horses plenty to munch on when they are stuck in a stall.
Amy called last night after church that Autumn has settled in and doing well. She is very kindly bringing Autumn down to Springfield on Friday for her new owner.
The vaulter's practice yesterday afternoon went very well according to the kids.
Emily is meeting us at the fair with Ciera's cart. Ciera will have a chance to practice with the crowds on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, if all goes well she is to pull the cart into the arena. We need to make sure Jenis, Ylse and Wynne are ok with having a cart following them. Thank goodness Rebekah is coming down on Friday as Wynne is the only one we are really worried about. She is only 4 years old and we don't know if she has ever seen or heard this.
My grand daughter is coming on Saturday but to get her there we had to promise she would get to ride. Addyson loves the horses but more than that she loves to be ON the horses. She won't be 2 years old until April 21st, we like to start them young, but in her case she let us know she was a horse lover before she could talk.
The vaulters and Friesians are performing between 3:30pm and 5:30pm on Saturday and between 1:30pm and 3:30pm on Sunday. You all come down and cheer for them!
