Izadora's New Colt

Announcing the birth of Izadora's brand new all black all beautiful colt by Raven.
She is very proud of him and is a wonderful mom. By the time I arrived at the farm he was up and nursing. How wonderful it is to drive up and see a new baby with NO work, no loss of sleep on our account. Yesterday when she was checked her udder had only just started filling so we really didn't think she would deliver this soon.
He is strong and stocky. They were put in a stall and it was so funny to see him trying to buck and run around driving his mama crazy. She is such a good mom that when he finally laid down to take a nap, she left her hay and stood with her face almost touching him, not moving until he woke up, then it was back to the hay.



After he was set it was off to the walk. Mike wanted to use the skid steer but the bucket had been left up and there was only about an 8 inch opening between the bucket and the door.

We thought we were in trouble until Rachel came to the rescue. She was the only one thin enough to slide through the opening, start the skid steer and lower the bucket.
