Rhoda's Birthday
Today is Rhoda's birthday and she is on her way with Sarah to Colorado for a snowboarding trip. She won't be home until Jan 9th, 2010 so we will celebrate it then. She was given her gift of money to help with the trip but no card to go with it. They left last night and the house is again empty of children, just the 2 dogs to keep us company. This morning it was 5 below zero here and 7 below zero at the farm. No phone calls from the farm so we will assume all is well. We are heading out there after church to show Anni and for dinner.
My little herd of 3 foals will again expand to 5 soon. We want to wean Wanda to give Sanna plenty of time for her udder to go down before she is delivered. There are quite a few people disappointed in us selling her but she is going to a wonderful home. Emails also came in that why was she sold, she is not even listed for sale on our website. We are confident she is going to the best home for her. It is just that she is a favorite with our free riders and something must help with the hay bills around here. God will provide, He always does and we have plenty of other horses they can ride, just not any other Friesians. Of course most of the kids want their pictures taken on a Friesian. Jenis we only put people on that have good balance and have ridden before at high speeds. She has no vices but her gaits are huge and expressive and it takes a very balanced rider to really enjoy her. Ylse is not suitable for our groups for the same reason and Samantha always needs to be reminded to STAND still for tacking and mounting. We do not want our beginner riders to ever have a bad experience on a horse.
Hope our car starts in this cold we need to leave in a few minutes for church.
